I'm starting to feel really good. My energy level is awesome and I'm not crashing at 2 in the afternoon. No headaches or aches and pains, just some lingering congestion I've been battling for a few days. I've been using my netti pot every morning to clean out my sinuses.
Update on the Magic Bullet, I returned it to Kohl's today. It cannot handle the type of stuff I want it to grind to make smoothies. I got ahead of myself when I bought it yesterday. I was thinking it was the Nutribullet, which a friend recommended, but it wasn't. A nice little kitchen tool but not something I need to keep. So I'm back to researching blenders and juicers and deciding which way to go. Traditional juicers look like a pain to clean so I'm leaning towards a good blender instead.
Today was a bit goofy with my eating. I snacked on a cherry date oat bar while I took the boys to school and then made my breakfast which I didn't sit down to eat until almost nine. It really filled me up so I wasn't too hungry or motivated to make something for lunch. I was having a little revolt about cooking and, in hindsight, I was also nervous about Andy's doctor's appointment. (He went for a renal ultrasound this afternoon and everything looked good, no problems). Anyway, I considered which leftover to eat and finally ended up snacking for lunch. Then I ate dinner in the car while George was at baseball practice. It was only 45 degrees, I didn't want to get out and the rest of the kids were playing at a friend's house. (Thank you Susan!) Before we left for practice, Susan was kind enough to make a salad for us to share. It hit the spot.
Here's what I had today:
Breakfast - Cardamon quinoa porridge served with pears and toasted slivered almonds
Lunch - Cherry date oat bars, roasted spiced pumpkin seeds and an apple
Dinner - Green salad (at Susan's house) and baked salmon with coconut broth, brown rice and veggies; I warmed it up at home and then ate in my car. It was a really good leftover.
