Between snow days and sick kids and more snow days and more sick kids and the fun of watching the Olympics, I am feeling one month behind on my Jen to do list. I'm tired and worn out to prove it. That blessed feeling of "if I just get thru this (fill in the blank), everything will settle down" doesn't happen with four kids. It's always something. And tomorrow is the first day of March. What?
I remember making a lamb or a lion in grade school to hang in the hallway declaring your decision on whether March would come in like a lion or a lamb. I always chose the lamb because I liked gluing the cotton balls on the paper. From a weatherman's perspective, March promises to come roaring in like a lion tomorrow. Another winter storm is headed for us with ice, sleet and snow dumping on us for a solid 24 hours.
For me, March is also coming in like a lion. Summer camp plans to be made (already? I know, right?), home projects awaiting my attention, birthdays to celebrate, First Communion preparation for our 2nd grader, spring break, three boys gearing up to play spring baseball and one running track and a two year old ready for potty training. Not to mention those 10 pounds I need to lose that I'm pretty sure I've lost at least 10 times already.
Look out, here comes March roaring like a lion. (Cue the Katy Perry song).
Maybe I'll go make a lamb with cotton balls just for old time's sake.
