The snow started drifting down from the sky sometime after I was asleep all snug in my bed last night. And it hasn't stopped since. The St. Louis area received 8 - 12 inches of snow today. We got the news at 1 p.m. this afternoon that school is closed tomorrow. The kids have been home for 16.5 days straight. Let's make it 17. Bitter cold is coming tonight so it won't be a good day to send the kids outside to play. "Great", as I smile through gritted teeth, "that's great."

Time for Plan B. I'm going to put our oldest in charge of a game tournament. He loves making the brackets on the whiteboard on our easel. We'll do it similar to our rainy weekend at the river over Memorial Day last year. The youngest player gets to choose the game you play. The winner moves on, the loser goes to the loser bracket. If you lose twice, you're out. Games we've played in previous tournaments include: Uno, Sorry, Sequence, cribbage, Scrabble, Blokus, Candyland, Guess Who.
We also need to put away our Christmas decorations. Okay, bring on the snow day!
