I'm experimenting with a new way of dealing with all the kids' bits and pieces that I find lying around the house. I made a lost and found box. The sign says, "All items left in the box at 5 p.m. on Fridays will be donated to charity". Last Friday, the box was overflowing at 3 p.m. I reminded the five year old, since he can't read, and then never said a word to the big boys. The box was completely empty at 5 p.m. Way to go boys, you passed the test for week 1! It is much easier for me to decide what to do with their stuff and better than having kid piles sitting around waiting to be put away. And if they can't find something, look in the lost and found.
